Madison businesses are taking the Mpower pledge, and joining their community to reduce 100,000 tons in citywide emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) by 2011.

Each business is meeting their own 10% carbon emission reduction in ways unique to their situation.

In order to meet the 10% energy reduction goal, businesses first create a baseline documenting their electrical, natural gas, water and transportation use. After completing the baseline, business create an action plan to lower their emissions and impact on the environment from installing solar panels, to incorporating remote management for their customers, to purchasing 100% green energy from MGE, to education employees on energy efficiency behaviors.
